Secondary Stage

Secondary Stage: Class IX & X

High school students adhere to the ICSE syllabus in order to get ready for the board exam. Here they receive training to prepare them for the ever-evolving world and the difficulties that lie outside St. Agnes's walls. Teaching and learning in the classroom are prioritized. There is a strong focus on independent study and the elimination of tuition outside of the classroom. Projects are carried out, and external examiners assess these projects. The grades—which are internal assessment grades out of 20 for each subject—are forwarded to the Council. All of the applications-based projects are completed in-person at the school. The students bring in materials from home and arrange them according to the questions.

Pattern of Examination:

First Terminal : 20 marks and 80 marks written (April to July)

Second Terminal : 20 marks and 80 marks written (August to November)

Selection Examination: 20 marks (project work) and 80 marks written (January)

There is also a practice examination conducted on the ICSE pattern to give writing practice for the students of Class X appearing for the Boards.

The Board Examination commences during the last week of February and ends in the last week of March.

Aural and Oral skills in English are given top priority.
